A constitutional standard that must shape everyday life
There is work so essential
that society depends on it—yet rarely values it fully.
Caregiving.
Motherhood.
The sustaining of life itself.
The Constitutional Standard
The Equal Rights Amendment establishes equality.
Women’s labor—paid and unpaid—is indispensable.
The Hidden Economy
Our systems overlook:
Raising children
Sustaining households
Supporting communities
This work is foundational.
The Work of Bringing Life Into the World
Women carry, give birth to, and nourish the next generation.
Pregnancy and childbirth require strength, endurance, and real risk.
Women go to the edge of life to bring life forward.
And yet this reality is not fully reflected in our systems.
When a society depends on women to sustain life
but does not fully protect and value them—
an imbalance is created.
When a Society Turns Away from Life
When violence persists,
it stands in contrast to the work of sustaining life.
A society that does not protect women
undermines its own foundation.
Conclusion
To honor women is to honor the source of life itself.
